Auditions

We accept musicians by audition. 
Auditions will be held on the dates shown below,
and by special arrangment during the regular concert season.

We offer: 

Four full orchestra concerts
Two chamber orchestra concerts
Performances with professional soloists
An annual concerto competition for soloists
Performance tours every two years (next in 2009)
Varied, challenging musical repertoire
CD recording every year

 
Auditions will be held in
September 6, 2009 from noon to 5:30 pm
September 13, 2009 from 10 am to 1 pm

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

Applicants should be prepared to:

• Play two contrasting movements of a Concerto or Sonata without an accompanist.  (Percussionists should prepare an appropriate solo work/etude.) "Contrasting" refers to one technical movement and one slower or musical movement. No applicant will play an entire concerto during the audition.
  
• Sight-read music provided to them.
  
• Perform major scales up to 4 flats and 4 sharps.
